This is an example of an introduction to the essay question “Is economics a science?” It states the author’s position and the order of discussion.

In this essay, I will argue that economics is a science. First I will present and defend a definition of what a science is. Then I will show that economics is a science according to this definition. Some authors claim that economics is not a science. After arguing that economics is a science, I will reveal that these authors are relying on a mistaken definition of what a science is.
